The outing

Dear Ness,
Every day I seem to get bigger. It is hard sometimes to remember how tall I am and I bonked my head on the fence really hard when I thought I was going under it. Liza was chasing me to the field. It is getting easier to beat  her every day.
Yesterday I got all brushed up. I hate it when the mums go in my ears so I spent the whole time hoping they would just brush me and not poke around. Lucky for me it was just a brush and I got taken on a leash out to the car shortly after. I thought maybe it was to the vet again. Maizie was already in the car.
She had more than just a brush. She was fluffed and puffed with scarves and bows. She looked pretty good but really, to hear her tell it nobody had ever had a hair do before. I had one when I came home from training and I didn't carry on about it like that.
Turns out we were going to the hospital where there are wheelchairs and doors and people who want to pat you. I couldn't imagine they were taking Maizie there. I am sending you her picture. She looks good but can you see what all the fuss is about?
I have been to the hospital before and had pictures taken with people. I don't mind them patting me. It is kind of nice sometimes. Margo, who works there, put me up on knees and all really have to do is be still.
Margo took me around on a very adult loose leash. The mum didn't even bring a camera yesterday because she was so busy with Maizie who had to be on a reeeeeeeally short leash as you can imagine. You would have loved the cumbs on the floor under the tables.  Lots of the rooms had quite a few and because Maizie was on the reeeeeeeeeeally short leash I got to eat them all.
I sat on beds and knees and Maizie just had to stand there. She is so much bigger than I am. We did get to a couple of men who liked Maizie and made a big fuss over her. Maizie liked one named Henry. She lay down at his feet and thought she would like to go back and visit him soon. I told her it was only if she was invited.
It is hard to do an hour of concentrating on not jumping or peeing. Fortunately Margo showed us round the garden and I got to have a much deserved bathroom break.
The photo I have sent is of me last time I was at the hospital.  Kathy took me when mums were away on holiday. I think this could be a regular job for me. It is always nice to be employable, don't you find? I bet you have lots of jobs Ness. Are you still at the big camp with all of the students?
Today the mums said we are gardening. I hope I am allowed to help. I haven't made a hole yet. Annabel is very good at it. She dug all the bulbs out of the front garden. Little Sophie made a hole under the swing big enough for two of us to lie in. I'm hoping today to do something important like that. I hope it is just not a poodle talent.
     I'll let you know.
Love and wags
